Dear Directors and Supporters,

We are passionately asking for your immediate financial support as we continue our mission to Restore, Repurpose, and Resurrect the historic Bull Swamp Colored School and Community Center.

Our preservation project is being implemented in three phases. Phase I—Stabilization and Preservation—is approximately 95% complete. We are now embarking on moving forward with Phase II and Phase III, including the commercial kitchen, food pantry, reception hall, Great Lawn/outdoor activity area, drainage improvements, permanent handicapped access, parking, outdoor pavilion/kiosk, and solar lighting. These planned site features are included and approved in the historical architectural design and master site holistic project plan.

At this critical early implementation stage, our new non-profit community organization urgently needs funds for property insurance coverage, legal services, and the continued implementation of Phases II and III. Every contribution, large or small, will help protect this historic property and continue moving this important community mission forward.

WHAT YOUR SUPPORT WILL HELP US ACCOMPLISH:

Funds raised will also help us implement a monthly public-opening program, allowing visitors to tour the historic buildings, view museum exhibitions, learn about the community’s history, and see the preservation work accomplished. This public-access effort will help transform the restored property into an educational and cultural resource for families, students, residents, and visitors while supporting the long-term preservation of this important legacy.
